Seminar Description
Participants learn how to include students with a range of disabilities in typical classes and how to support all students through appropriate instructional strategies. Dr. Fisher discusses the ins and outs of inclusive education and shows teachers
- how to develop lesson plans for heterogeneous groups
- what accommodations and modifications can be made for students with disabilities
- how assistive technology works and what supports their students may have
- how educational technology can be used in the inclusive classroom
- positive approaches to challenging behavior
- how to assess students progress and grade their work
The seminar also addresses collaboration between teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service personnel. Dr. Fisher explains how these professionals and peers can support students with disabilities and their teachers.
