Seminar Description

Participants will learn how to include and support students with a range of disabilities in typical classes through appropriate instructional strategies. Dr. Fisher discusses the ins and outs of inclusive education and shows teachers

• how to develop lesson plans for heterogeneous groups

• what accommodations and modifications can be made for students with disabilities

• how assistive technology works and what supports their students may have

• how educational technology can be used in the inclusive classroom

• positive approaches to challenging behavior

• how to assess students’ progress and grade their work

The seminar also addresses collaboration between teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service personnel. Dr. Fisher explains how these professionals and peers can support students with disabilities and their teachers.
