The CDIs At A Glance

Age range covered:
8–30 months (may also be used with older children who have developmental delays)

A words and gestures form, a words and sentences form, User's Guide

Who completes it:
Parents complete forms; professionals score

Approximate time:
Each form generally takes 20–40 minutes to complete, 20–30 minutes to score by hand, and less time to score by machine

Validity and reliability:
Field tested with caregivers of diverse backgrounds and children with a range of disabilities

Languages:
English and Spanish. Note: The CDIs and Inventarios were developed separately to reflect linguistic and cultural differences and the vocabulary and grammatical structure of each language.

The
CDIs and their Spanish adaptation, the Inventarios, are standardized, parent-completed report forms that track young children's language and communication skills.
